"Drifting Along"

I spotted this bird with a hen from a distance floating along out in a bay one afternoon. The birds were really spooky that day and with no luck getting close that morning, I knew I had to take some precautions with these. I spent a while belly crawling through the grass to make my way up to the shoreline. When I got there, the birds were no where in sight. I thought they had made me when all of a sudden I caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye close to the shore I was near.

There they were, just 20 yards away. They looked over at me with caution and began to move out into deeper water. I watched them for almost an hour as they eventually calmed down. They met up with a few others and rafted along out in the open bay. Most of the time that I've seen Redheads they were acting similar and I wanted to capture that feeling of drifting along in bigger water.
