"Winter's First Call"
About this painting:
A lone wolf howls into the blustery snow as Fall nears an end, and Winter approaches. I find wolves to be so inspiring. Perhaps it's the strong relationships they build as canines for one another or the bone chilling howls that break the night's silence. In any case these animals are a true testament to Mother Nature's brilliant work. I wanted this drawing to show the bond between a wolf and its surroundings, blending the two together in harmony. This artwork was completed using a combination of colored pencils, pastels and graphite. This drawing was done back in 2007. At the time I was trying to find a way to develop a style that was realistic, yet pushed the boundaries of creativity. This artwork has held a very special place in my heart ever since. If you've got a soft spot for wolves I promise that this painting will melt your heart in exceptional detail!
