Painted en plein air and at camp in our wall tent, this painting features a desert landscape from our trip to Utah. 

We camped next to a spot for several days and this view was right near camp. I liked the composition all along, but it wasn't until the light shined a certain way one afternoon that I was inspired to paint it.

The way the blues contrasted the warm foreground was something I feel like I've rarely seen. The colors were so bright and uniquely vibrant throughout our trip to the region and this piece seemed to capture that perfectly in my eyes. This was the second and FINAL plein air of our adventure to the state. I'm eager to get back someday however!
